Sea Witch Updates – End of February

Hello everyone! Evi here, back again with some updates.

If you haven’t visited my blog before, welcome to Sea Witch Letters- the place where I talk about my writing process, whats on my mind, and how my multiple manuscripts are going.

Writing Updates °❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

At the beginning of the month, I had estimated that I would be further along on my second manuscript (this is the sequel to my first fantasy manuscript- which is on its fourth draft.) I have almost completed Part 1, of book 2, and originally was hoping to finish parts 1 and 2; a goal I now realize was not super realistic.

Part 1 of Project Prophecy is nearly complete, and the manuscript sits at about 16k words. I am hoping to finish Part 1 by the end of the month, which is looking very likely. I have also begun working on some art for book 2, below is a watercolour map of the main setting in the story; the Isle of Valmara.

I also have begun draft four of Project Sea Witch, and will hopefully gearing up to find some beta readers this summer. My goals for this project are as follows: finish draft four before summer, acquire beta readers, have beta feedback by the end of summer and get on with draft five before fall.

Social Media °❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

Other than writing updates, I have been pushing myself to use social media more, especially TikTok. On my profile, (linked here) https://www.tiktok.com/@seawitchletters I have been making writing vlogs, and sharing art for Project Sea Witch.

I find social media a very interesting place, despite my anxious relationship to posting, I love the ability to connect with other like minded folks who are interested in literature, fantasy, writing, art and more. I look forward to continuing to push my own expectations and sharing content online about my writing process and my art.

Remembering What Matters °❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

I find throughout this process of trying to embody my dreams of being a writer and an artist, it can be easy to wish I was closer to being done the book. Sometimes I research the query process, or the publishing process, and I get super excited about the idea of releasing my books one day; then, when remembering the amount of work ahead of me, I get daunted. But being daunted is good. There is lots of work yet to do, lots to prepare for, and that is exciting. That is a gift!

Whenever I get too in my head about not yet being ready to publish, I remind myself that yes, it will take a long time, but the time will pass anyway; so I may as well use it as best I can. I feel grateful to get to pursue this dream, with the support of my friends, family, my partner, and some very cool strangers on the internet; and when I am reminded of this, I know I am so lucky.

Signing Off °❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

For now, these are all the updates I have for you. I will hopefully make more designated blog posts in March, but for now I will leave the links to my primary social media (TikTok and Instagram) here: https://www.tiktok.com/@seawitchletters https://www.instagram.com/seawitchletters/

I hope all of the readers, writers, artists, and creatives reading this are feeling full of inspiration, passion, and excitement. I know I am, and I wish the same for you all.

Happy reading, writing, and being,

Love, your favourite Sea Witch,

Evi °❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
