Hello all! For the past few weeks there has been a lot happening in my world, so here I am to share some writing, creative, and bookish updates.
Enjoy 🙂
Project Sea Witch: Draft Three
As I make headway on the third draft of Project Sea Witch, I have finally begun to see the image of my work all coming together.
This edit has been focused on grammar, sentence structure, and formatting; as well as adding a few small scenes for continuity purposes, and deepening character arcs.
So far, I find editing very fun, as I mostly fixed any glaring plot and pacing issues in draft 2. Draft 3 is more about deepening the arcs of my characters and making sure everything fits together in a neat picture. As things stand now, I expect to be done this draft by the end of the week.
Cheers to draft 3 of Project Sea Witch! Yay!
New Projects
As I progress on Project Sea Witch and estimate beginning its fourth draft in February, I am also refining my plans for the fantasy series I am working on, that I will refer to as Project Silver Tide.
I will be working on writing more chapters for my first draft of Project Prophecy, the sequel to Project Sea Witch, a story that once again follows the Pirate King Julian Blackwell, and takes place right after the events of the first book.
As I work towards a manuscript for the sequel, I am also aiming to plot the other two books in that series; of which I hope to have four books in total.
Aside from the books in Project Silver Tide, my mind has been running wild with ideas. I now have three manuscripts that I am actively working on, two fantasy projects, and one dark academia/mystery (Project Mistwick Hill); but I simply cannot stop having new ideas.
Concepts for new stories have come to me as I write and edit (three new book ideas), but I have told myself that I will not plot them until Project Sea Witch, Project Prophecy, and Project Mistwick Hill, have all been further developed.
I plan to write more on these new ideas, and share bits of the process of how I ideate and plan a novel when the time comes to dive into those. One day, I’m sure my editors and agents will love that I have such an active mind, but for now I set aside my ideas and slog through my current work.
Social Media Presence
As I continue to progress on writing Project Sea Witch, I have been making an attempt at sharing my process and bits of my work online (hence, this blog). I have been posting a lot more on TikTok despite the chaos of the platform, and my upcoming goal is to begin to make long form content about writing for Youtube.
Though I am not in a rush, I have been putting together some bits of a first video, and as I wait for my pink microphone in the mail, I look forward to what that platform may bring.
Reading
In 2025, I was in a huge reading slump, but I have decided that 2026 will be a year full of books (both written and read.)
Currently, I have been loving Hamnet, by Maggie O’Farrell. I am completely enamoured with the prose in this novel, and though I am not too far into it, Hamnet is already shaping up to be the best novel I have read in recent history.
I am hoping to make TBR lists for this year and stick to them, and hopefully share reviews or thoughts on some of the novels I read.
Signing Off
Thank you for reading about my current updates and all of my writing and reading adventures. I hope to come back in a couple weeks with more good writing news.
Happy reading and writing, love, your favourite Sea Witch,
Evi ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
